While the word vision has substantially remained dominant only in any strategic business talks, it becomes almost insane to think of it at the personal level as it has become almost only applicable in the business planning cycles. What a mistake!
I think it’s high time that we forget a little about business, and talk more of the vision
at the personal level. In short, in order to meet the organizational goals, and objectives; the vision of the individuals and teams within the company should be in line with that of the business.
Whether in business or not, in order to progress and fully live miracles and wonders in your life, you should know what you actually want and what will be of value for you in order to move towards that. Quite often, as individuals, we take a moment to make new plans to give new shape to our lives, but we tire off soon enough as what we want to achieve or change our ways towards begins to look uncertain. Others spend a lot of their
money investing in motivational books, seminars and talks, but still they can’t
reach the new leap towards change.
What makes us fail is, we believe that the rain should fall first in order for us to build fish ponds unaware of the rivers that flow underground only for us to dig up. We are so moved in trying to change what is around us to the extend we forget that the greatest enemy we have is the enemy within us. Fortunate for the Christians, you will agree with me that
Jesus was actually a root that sprang from the dry ground (Isaiah 53:2), which does however make sense in simple terms. It’s a chocking truth that a lot of Basotho, whether taken in U.S.A, or any of the booming economies, will remain needy or even poorer than we are here at home.
If you will take sometime to think along this lines you will agree with me that has it not been because of lack of vision, fear, and other negative attitudes we so much cherish in us, the world could be happier, healthier, richer, and better-off.
To this end, the problem is still lack of clear personal vision and its supporting aspirations and if you can have that, believe me you can grow a rose on a concrete floor!
Having a concise vision to move towards in your life will make you become mutually
exclusive even to the emotions that will not help you reach where you want to go.
Had it not been because of perseverance he attracted while moving towards his
dream, Thomas Edison (the inventor of the fluorescent bulb) could not have tried a light
bulb for over 100 times before he could reach what he wanted and we could be
watching TV sets by candles today.
Only true to myself; and those who believe in the power of motivation, and imagination, life is just as wonderful to me in Lesotho (under the government, culture and society) that has so much been blamed by its offspring for corruption, civil dishonesty and poor business environment, as it is for Warren Buffet in U.S.A. I feel pushed and want to ask you right now to start making plans on your own life. Imagine everything you would need to achieve
your goals as already there.
Write every goal you want to achieve in a present active tense. Instead of writing; “I want to own my own company in 2011”, write, “I am having a company that is opening in
2011 and…” While in this process, I also encourage you to never think of any negative
emotion that will deter you from reaching your destination. Do not read books, watch TV programmes, and join groups that talk about or raise any negative emotion.
I want to motivate you to keep on doing all that will invoke positive emotions that will keep burning that desire to achieve your dreams and realize your vision. Do all what it takes for you to remain happy, peaceful, loving, caring, generous, inspired, enthusiastic, and content. Make sure that you always guide yourself with this set of emotions, and slowly you will realize what adventure there is in Lesotho and the endless possibilities that you will attract
to yourself.
